YieldNET Data Management Software

YieldNET data management software is scaleable to small custom fabs as well as to large fabs that need an enterprise-wide yield management solution, linking multiple fabs into an overall yield management strategy. It has been installed successfully at a number of customer sites and has achieved an uptime and availability of 99.9% during 1999.

Fab wide data is crucial for improving overall fab performance and maximizing yield. The software lets a fab analyze all phases of wafer manufacturing and find ways to improve overall line performance. Fabs can compare their own data to similar data generated in another fab which makes technology transfer of new devices from pilot lines to production lines significantly easier.

The software can isolate low yielding equipment through the interface to its Manufacturing Execution System (MES) or Work in Process (WIP) database, compare the performance of process equipment, and post summary reports automatically on a company's Intranet. In addition, the software performs many automatic functions such as in-line yield monitoring, generating correlations between data modules, and generating alarms with automatic reports. Repetitive analysis scenarios can be automated and scheduled to run at preset times. And extensive auto reports make day-to-day operation simple and effective.

YieldNET consists of several choices of client applications: for fab managers and production planners, it provides easy access to yield information through standard web reports, making it possible to address the most critical problems in manufacturing and to make the necessary adjustments across different facilities. For yield, product, or process engineers, the software's Engineering Data Analysis client provides a wealth of flexible analysis tools that make it possible to find the root cause of yield impact quickly by correlating data between Defect, Sort, Bitmap, MES/WIP and Electrical Test. For production operators, the software's Production client with its intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) and fast database processing make it easy to collect and respond to production problems in a timely manner.
