A range of Cryo pumps and compressors based on the Gifford McMahon refrigeration cycle are available. By adopting a simple pneumatic drive, the cold head, which is the heart of the Cryo pump, can be driven by a small, low - vibration stepper motor. This design offers a unique approach to refrigeration power and cooldown time control since the speed of the stepper motor can be regulated to very the cycle speed. The stepper motor enables:
1. Reduced speed during low power cycle, and thus extends seal life.
2. Higher speed during demand cycle and therefore increases cooling power.
Up to four Cryo pumps can be driven by a single Cryodrive compressor which optimizes the foot print and reduces capital cost.
