The Thermal Disc Processor is effective for drying of coal fines. The internal back flow of solids alters the conveying properties of coal fines. The result is a good method of drying tonnage quantities of froth coal, thickener underflow and pond coal at preparation plants; submicron fines at slurry-pipelines terminals; pre-drying feed to coke ovens and coal-conversion installations.
Other applications include drying, ore concentrates, organic salts, gypsum, lignin sulfate, calcium carbonate, lime, rare-earth concentrates, and powdered metal.
