The Microsource X-ray Generator

Source: Bede Scientific Incorporated
Specifically designed to exploit the potential of novel X-ray optics, it contains features not found in any other microfocus X-ray source
Specifically designed to exploit the potential of novel X-ray optics, it contains features not found in any other microfocus X-ray source. The innovative Microsource X-ray generator maximises the performance of a variety of X-ray optics, including multilayer and polycapillary optics. The result is a source with a stable and controllable focal spot of excellent uniformity which can be as small as 8 microns on the target. One and two port versions of the Microsource X-ray generator are available. Remote control software is an option.

Internal Electromagnetic Focusing

The electromagnetic focusing used in the Microsource X-ray Generator enables a smaller, brighter and more controllable electron focal spot to be achieved than with electrostatically focused tubes. The Microsource® X-ray Generator offers:
  • Controlled movement of the focal spot size, shape and position on the target
-essential for precise alignment and increased target lifetime
  • Electronic switching available for changing from spot to line focus on the target
  • Positional and brightness stability in excess of conventional sources
-essential for reliable operation with focusing optics

Microsource X-ray Generator with Micromirror X-ray Optic
The Microsource X-ray Generator is designed to be coupled with the groundbreaking Micromirror X-ray Optic from Reflex (Reflex s.r.o. is an associated company of Bede Scientific Instruments and provides advanced technologies for X-ray applications).
Unique features of this system are:
  • Micromirror X-ray Optic is housed in a pre-aligned cartridge with all the necessary adjustments for safe and easy alignment
  • Micromirror X-ray Optic provides a focused beam with a divergence at the focus down to less than 1mrad full angle (0.06 degree)
  • The rotational symmetry of the Reflex Micromirror X-ray Optic gives a circular beam profile of high spatial purity at the sample
  • Typical size of X-ray beam at focus is 300 microns

Please note
    1. X-ray emissions are harmful to the human body. Therefore the operator must take the necessary steps for protection.
    2. the Microsource should be installed in a shielded interlocked cabinet.
    3. Compliance with local regulations is the responsibility of the operator.
