Teradyne Assembly Test Division (ATD) Selects BigMachines Lean Front-End For Process Automation

Chicago -- BigMachines, Inc. announced that Teradyne Assembly Test Division (ATD) has selected the BigMachines Lean Front-End (LFE) platform. Specifically, Teradyne Assembly Test Division (ATD) will leverage the BigMachines LFE Configuration, Pricing & Proposal (CPP) solution to automate the company's entire inquiry-to-order sales processes.

Assembly Test Division (ATD) is a subdivision of Teradyne. The company's products deliver to the world's semiconductor, electronics, automotive and network systems companies. In 2004, Teradyne had sales of $1.8 billion, and currently employs about 4,100 people worldwide.

Currently ATD's front-end sales processes use disconnected tools and manual steps for quote generation. In addition, the company relies largely on employees' tribal knowledge and expertise for sales product selection and configuration. This often results in slower than desired customer response times. With the deployment of BigMachines CPP, ATD will eliminate these manual processes to generate timelier, more consistent, and customer-friendly proposals.

"ATD has a large network of sales representatives and channel partners. By eliminating many or our current manual sales processes, ATD will not only deliver faster quotes, but we will also free up staff resources, allowing employees to focus on higher value-add activities," said Andrew Hutchison of the Teradyne Assembly Test Division. "We selected BigMachines because they are the clear leader in delivering out-of-the box web-based configuration and quoting software that integrates seamlessly with our Salesforce.com CRM tool."

BigMachines CPP will be tightly integrated with ATD's Salesforce.com CRM solution. This feature enables ATD to leverage its current CRM functionality provided by Salesforce.com to automatically populate opportunity values from the configuration and quoting process. Sales reps will no longer have to re-enter data in both a CRM and quoting tool.
