Suzhou IC Design & Engineering Test Center Adopts Verigy V93000 To Support Local Fabless Design Houses

CUPERTINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Verigy (NASDAQ:VRGY), a leading semiconductor test company, today announced that Suzhou CAS (Chinese Academy of Science) Integrated Circuit Design Center (SZICC), a full-service IC design, test and training facility, has purchased a Verigy V93000 SoC tester. The system will be used to support the test requirements of the growing number of local fabless companies. SZICC, an Engineering Test Center sponsored by the Chinese government, is part of the fastest-growing science park in China and a key element of the country's efforts to grow and support an indigenous semiconductor supply chain in the Suzhou area. As the first center in the area to provide professional IC testing services, the SZICC also plays a critical role in training local engineers.

The V93000 with Pin Scale 400 and MB AV8 multi-band audio/visual cards will allow SZICC to accurately and cost-effectively test a wide variety of SoC devices for a range of applications, including high-volume consumer devices such as digital TV and portable media players (PMP).

"The V93000 tester is a valuable addition to our offering for the local fabless customers," said Xin Yu Liu, general manager, SZICC. "In addition, access to this leading test platform from Verigy is an important opportunity for many engineers in the local area who come to us for training."

"The beautiful Suzhou region has quickly become a vital part of China's semiconductor industry, with leading manufacturers establishing a local presence here, along with the emerging start-ups," said Pascal Ronde, vice president of sales, service and support, Verigy. "We are proud to work with SZICC and to contribute to the continued growth of the semiconductor ecosystem here."
