Semtech DSL TVS Device Delivers Performance And Protection For Sensitive DSL Line Drivers
Camarillo, CA - Semtech Corp. recently announced the TClamp1201S, a 12V, low-capacitance protection device for xDSL applications that features low clamping voltage and a flow-through package design to protect new xDSL line drivers.
The TClamp1201S is part of Semtech's family of low capacitance TVS arrays designed to protect high-speed xDSL interfaces. This product platform is specifically designed to protect sensitive components from overvoltage caused by electrostatic discharge (ESD), cable discharge events (CDE) and lightning.
The TClamp1201S offers a very low clamping voltage performance to protect sensitive ICs from damage while also presenting a minimal capacitance in order to maintain signal integrity. In addition to ADSL and VDSL applications, the part is ideal for protecting RS-232 serial ports.
The device features the use of a six-pin flow-through package design that grants designers flexibility in routing traces and ease in facilitating either common mode or differential configuration.
"Reliability is an increasingly critical issue in DSL network equipment as these services become the network of choice for voice and data applications into the home and office," said Rick Hansen, Senior Marketing Manager, Protection Products. "The TClamp1201S is taking off in these markets because it offers an unmatched combination of design flexibility and industry leading performance."
