A new electrostatic dissipative (ESd) plastic from DSM Engineering Plastic Products
A new electrostatic dissipative (ESd) plastic from DSM Engineering Plastic Products has a unique combination of static dissipation, high strength and high heat resistance. Semitron ESd 520 HR has a surface resistivity of 1010 to 1012 ohms/square , a tensile modulus of 900,000 and a heat deflection temperature (at 264 psi) of 520 °F.

Esd 520 HR, which is available in stock shapes for machining, is ideal for making static-dissipative nests, sockets and contactors for testing semiconductor equipment, and other device handling components.

Semitron® ESd 520 HR is the latest addition to DSM Engineering Plastic Products' unique family of plastic shapes for machining semiconductor manufac-turing and testing equipment components. Other innovative materials for the semiconductor industry available from DSM Engineering Plastic Products are: Semitron® ESd 225 (surface resistivity of 1010 and a heat deflection temperature of 225°F), Semitron® ESd 410 C (surface resistivity of 104 to 10 6 and a heat de-flection temperature of 420°F), and Semitron® ESd 500 R (surface resistivity of 1010 to 10 12 and a heat deflection temperature of 500°F).
