The ST 585 and ST 595-2 are high-speed semiconductor handling systems targeted to contract assemblers and semiconductor handling systems

The ST 585 and ST 595-2 are high-speed semiconductor handling systems targeted to contract assemblers and semiconductor handling systems. These systems offer speeds up to 7,200 units per hour, package changeover. These products include high-speed gravity-fed systems, tubes, and tray-stack modules. Graphical interfaces provide visually-based instruction to operators or technicians.

The ST 585 is a tape-and-reel handling system for components in tubes or multi-tracks. It has been designed with features to handle the growth of smaller surface-mount device packages such as the MSOP and TSSOP. The ST 585 handles SOIC, SOJ, SSOP and any other surface-mount two-sided components in tubes or multi-tracks.

The ST 595-2 is an automated tray-to-tape machine. It can handle components in JEDEC-style trays such as QFP, TSOP, BGA, or CSP. The standard ST 595-2 is equipped with a tray stack module that holds up to 20 JEDEC or EIAJ trays. Also standard are high-speed linear motor drives each with two pick-and-place vacuum heads that can reach speeds up to 6,000 units per hour, depending on component type, size, and vision inspection criteria. All pick-and-place heads are capable of rotating in 90(0) increments to ensure that the device is in the proper orientation before placement into carrier tape. The ST 595-2 optional items include a de-taping module, a second camera over tape pocket for device orientation check, and PVI inspection.
