Personal KALOS is the first fully functional tester designed to allow engineers to develop test programs from their desktops

Personal KALOS is the first fully functional tester designed to allow engineers to develop test programs from their desktops. The system is a desktop version of the high throughput KALOS tester designed for volume production and will be publicly demonstrated for the first time at the 1998 International Test Conference (ITC, Booth #401) in Washington, D.C.

Test engineers now routinely spend 100 hours or more developing flash memory test programs. Because developing a test involves the actual testing of the device, much of that time is spent on the test floor, tying up a valuable production tester and creating inefficiency for valuable engineers. The extremely small form factor of the Personal KALOS, which is slightly larger than a standard personal computer, allows engineers to develop a test program and perform production test from their desktops. The completed test program can be automatically transferred to the production KALOS to initiate volume testing without interrupting the manufacturing flow.
