Nu Horizons And AKM Semiconductor Announce Exclusive North American Distribution Partnership

Melville, NY. & San Jose, CA - Nu Horizons Electronics Corp.,the distributor of advanced technology semiconductor, display, illumination and system solutions; and AKM Semiconductor, Inc. (AKM), the U.S. subsidiary of Asahi Kasei EMD Corp., the supplier of digital audio converter IC's; recently announced an exclusive North American partnership agreement. This agreement encompasses the distribution of AKM's analog and mixed signal products within the United States, Canada and Mexico.

AKM manufactures over 150 unique digital audio conversion integrated circuits (ICs), including ADC's, DAC's, CODEC's, digital interface circuits and audio DSP's. AKM also provides low-power Class-D amplifiers, audio/video switches, and multimedia clocking IC's. AKM is one of the leading supplier of portable video IC's, as well as mixed-signal solutions for wired and wireless communications.
