New SSEC Double-Brush Scrub Cleans Disk Drive Disks to 1,000 UPH

Source: Solid State Equipment Corporation
A new double-brush scrubbing process from Solid State Equipment Corporation cleans top, bottom, and side surfaces of disks. Utilizing a patented (RE 36,767) configuration in which opposing brushes both rotate the disk and scrub all surfaces, SSEC disk cleaning systems achieve semiconductor-grade results. A typical SSEC disk cleaning system, the Trilennium™ 3095 DDC, can completely eliminate particles greater than 0.1 µm.

The double-brush system is representative of SSEC's broad technology in wet cleaners and processors for integrated circuit manufacturing. Based on a single substrate processing concept, SSEC systems allow optimization of each processing step and eliminate the drawbacks of batch processing. Single substrate processing also allows maximum throughput.

Solid State Equipment Corporation manufactures a full line of single wafer cleaners/processors and hermetic package sealers at its headquarters in suburban Philadelphia. These systems are complemented with application-specific components and supporting systems, including chemistry management systems and environmental systems for sealers. SSEC maintains sales and service offices worldwide, and customer support and process development centers in Horsham, Pennsylvania, Fremont, California, Regensburg, Germany, and Tokyo, Japan.
