Thomson Industries is expanding its product offering with the MicroStage product line of slides and stages. They feature a unique bearing segment design that provides backlash-free slide assembly without sacrificing load capacity or smoothness. MicroStage slides are suited for use in multi-axis pick and place equipment applications such as sealant dispensing systems, inspection systems, insertion equipment, and PC board assembly.

MicroStage slides and stages are manufactured from aluminum to achieve optimum strength and rigidity while decreasing the mass of the system. As a result, they provide lower inertia and higher performance than heavier steel-based products. In addition, they feature flexible mounting configurations with hole patterns and some models have T-slots that allow for easy interchange and simple X-Y mounting. The MicroStage slides are readily adaptable to most industry standard step or servomotors, air cylinders, and micrometer movement devices. They are available in a wide range of lengths and leads.
