Infineon names EKC Technology 'Materials Supplier of the Year'
EKC Technology, Inc., a ChemFirst Inc. (NYSE: CEM) company, was recognized as the "Materials Supplier of the Year 2000" by Infineon Technologies AG (FSE/NYSE: IFX) at a recent ceremony at Infineon's Worldwide Supplier Day in Munich, Germany. The award was given for excellent performance in quality, technology, costs, logistics and management commitment based upon the Infineon supplier evaluation.
The ceremony honored the "best and most efficient suppliers from around the world" in the segments of Materials, Equipment, EDA-Software and Subcontractors and was hosted by Andreas van Zitsewitz, Infineon COO, and Peter Reischl, senior vice president purchasing.
EKC was specifically recognized for the outstanding contribution of one of its HAD® technology products. This chemistry, used around the world in advanced semiconductor manufacturing, thoroughly cleans the residue left behind during the etch processes that create the interconnects, or micro wires, of integrated circuits.
Jerry Coder, president and COO of EKC Technology, Inc. and Connell Boyle, managing director of EKC Technology, Ltd., their subsidiary located in East Kilbride, Scotland, accepted the award.
