Energy Dispersive X-Ray Microanalysis
Ease of Use
One of the greatest benefits of the Phoenix is its intuitive software design, befitting of users ranging from the expert to the novice. Running under Windows NT or Windows 95/98 operating systems, the design avoids screen clutter from multiple windows, while providing the crisp performance one expects from a true 32 bit architecture.
Quality Report Generation
All data can be saved in standard file formats (BMP, TIFF, ASCII) for importing into word processing software or reporting templates. Any operator can generate reliable and accurate results quickly and easily with a minimal amount of time and effort.
Quantification routines
The most accurate and easiest to use standardless quantification available today is offered through the SEM Quant Package. ZAF, PhiRhoZ and PhiZAF are also available for bulk sample analysis.
Phoenix offers:
- Excellent algorithms for element identification and quantification.
- Advanced halographic elemental peak deconvolution.
- Unique standardless quantification using theoretical approach with system parameters.
- TEM quantification using Cliff Lorimer, Theoretical Method or Biological Method.
- Spectral matching techniques for layered and non-homogeneous samples.
The quantification routines account for sample coatings and roughness as well as mass loss and oxides. Regardless of the application, the Phoenix system provides quick and easy results with the best accuracy and reliability.
Powerful Imaging Tools
EDX Imaging/Mapping
The system is available with a suite of imaging software modules, including the highest resolution imaging and fastest x-ray mapping in the industry. Various imaging modes are available including spot, line and raster beam control functions, which can be correlated to full spectral quantification. Sophisticated modules such as drift correction, quantitative mapping and spectral imaging are also available on the imaging level systems.
- EDX Fast Mapping (dedicated SCAs and frame averaging to provide speed)
- EDX Quant Mapping (each pixel is background & matrix corrected to provide accuracy)
- EDX Line Scan (each pixel can be background and matrix corrected to provide accuracy)
- EDX Particle/Phase Analysis (morphometry combined with chemical analysis provide accuracy)
Automated and Multi-Point Analysis
- Spectral Mapping/Data Recovery (spectra from each pixel later derive maps, line scans, etc. provide convenience)
- Multipoint Analysis and Advanced Linescan (automated quant analysis via beam files provide speed and convenience)
- Image Drift Correction (automatic realignment of image during spectral analysis provides accuracy)
