Elevated Gantry, Air-Bearing X,Y,Z Theta Stage

Dover Instrument Corporation offers an innovative air-bearing solution for the larger substrates used in flat panel display, printed circuit board manufacturing and circuit assembly where high part placement accuracy for overhead access is required.

The Triathlon Series Elevated Gantry air-bearing stage is designed to provide a high-speed, high accuracy X, Y, and Z stage system for larger substrate applications where movement of the substrate is not practical.

The Dover Elevated gantry achieves excellent straightness in both the X-axis and Y-axis through the use of an advanced magnetically pre-loaded air bearing that rides along a precision ground, nickel-plated steel rail. The Z-axis is mounted to the X-axis bar for a customer's tooling. A linear motor and encoder drive this Z-axis with a pneumatic counter-balance for vertical stability. Many of these Triathlon Series Elevated Gantry systems are in service at major production facilities for circuit assembly.
