Electroglas Centralize Asian Operations Under Fujimoto

Electroglas, Inc., a supplier of process management tools for the semiconductor industry, has appointed Nobuya Fujimoto as vice president of Asian operations. Fujimoto will combine his new responsibilities with his current role as president of Electroglas KK, the company's Japanese subsidiary.

Dan Fields, the former vice president of Electroglas' Asia-Pacific operations, has been appointed as vice president of U.S. customer operations. Reporting to Conor O'Mahony, vice president of global customer operations, both Fujimoto and Fields will be responsible for driving all customer operations in their respective regions including sales, customer service, applications engineering and field operations. The new assignments are to take effect on Jan. 1, 1999.

Electroglas has five local offices in Asia Pacific, three in Europe, and five in the United States.

Prior to joining Electroglas, Fujimoto spent over fourteen years with Nihon Computervision Corp., where he was a member of the board of directors and held a succession of management positions. Before Nihon Computervision, Fujimoto held various management positions during his eight-year tenure at Dow Chemical Japan Ltd. including manager of employee relations and administration, treasurer, and manager of finance. Fujimoto holds a bachelor's degree in economics from St. Paul's University (also known as Rikkyo University) in Tokyo.

Before joining Electroglas, Fields held senior management positions in the semiconductor capital equipment industry over a 16-year period with Siltec Corp. and Ultracision Inc. He holds a master's degree in strategic marketing from the National University of Ireland and a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore.
