Packard BioChip Technologies600 is a drilling system based on a dual laser system that drills blind vias in all laminates, pre-pregs, dielectrics and copper foils. This system accesses the local area network interface to select the appropriate drill file. It then activates the automatic loading and unloading handlers to process a full load of panels.

When a panel is located, the system first spot faces and acquires four alignment targets in the corners of the panel. The drill file is automatically compensated for shrinkage due to the lamination process. There are three automatically controlled drilling modes: direct dielectric drilling, conformal mask drilling or dual laser drilling.
