Dr. Dwight W. Decker Named FSA Chairman
Dr. Sanjay Jha, who has held the position of chairman for nearly three years, will assume Decker's role as vice chairman. The rotation in leadership roles is effective immediately.
In his role as chairman, Decker will help further FSA's strategic direction, working closely with FSA's executive management team to execute the Association's expanding vision. The FSA Board recognizes that Decker, with his new position at Conexant, is committed to providing additional time and leadership to support the Association as its role within the global industry continues to evolve.
"I am honored and privileged to serve in this leadership role for the FSA," said Decker. "FSA has significantly advanced its global presence in the last three years. I look forward to leveraging my experience to build on the strong foundation that has been established, and leading FSA through the next phase of its growth."
Decker has nearly 20 years of semiconductor industry experience. He has served on FSA's Board of Directors for six years and has held the role of FSA vice chairman since 2004. Decker previously served as chairman and chief executive officer of Conexant. Prior to this position, Decker was senior vice president of Rockwell International and president of Rockwell Semiconductor Systems.
"Dwight has been a diligent ambassador for FSA. He has promoted and encouraged FSA's expansion of its services and its mission resulting in FSA's growing influence throughout the entire supply chain," said Jodi Shelton, co-founder and executive director of FSA.
"Dwight can be an advocate for a variety of company types and geographies. He not only led one of the top 20 fabless companies, but he also understands what it takes to transition from an IDM to the fabless model. He brings a unique leadership perspective as he serves on the Board of three public and two private semiconductor companies, including one based in China, and he is one of the most experienced CEOs in the area of India, a region growing in importance in this industry," said Shelton. "We believe his dedicated leadership will continue to have a positive impact on FSA."
Jha has been on the FSA Board of Directors since 2003 and was appointed chairman in 2005. As vice chairman, he will provide strategic counsel on Association initiatives.
Jha currently serves as chief operating officer of QUALCOMM and president of QUALCOMM CDMA Technologies (QCT).
"Under Sanjay's leadership, FSA has achieved significant milestones, expanding its worldwide presence in Asia and Europe, and increasing its reach throughout the supply chain," said Shelton. "Sanjay is a valuable asset to the organization as vice chairman. He leads the largest and one of the most well respected fabless companies, Qualcomm, and distinctly understands what it takes to grow a company and manage a complicated supply chain."
