CCD Laser Measurement System
Applications for the new meter exist in automotive and marine engine manufacture, chassis assembly and measurement of other automotive components, electronic component and appliance manufacture, food and pharmaceutical packaging, metalworking and machine manufacture, plus a wide range of rubber and plastic molding applications.
The LK uses a high resolution CCD sensing array instead of a PSD (Position Sensitive Detector) used in conventional systems. The array detects the peak value of the light quantity distribution of the beam spot for each pixel (individual sensing element) within the area of its ultra-small 30-micron diameter beam spot and determines the precise target position. On the other hand, the PSD can only utilize the light quantity distribution of its entire beam spot to determine the target's position- thus introducing measurement errors.
LK measurement accuracy is further increased by Laser Flash Time Control (LFTC) technology which automatically controls laser emission time to compensate for variations in target reflectivity and surface conditions. Shiny, mirrored- even wet surfaces and rough black objects- are measured with the same 1.0-micron resolution. With its higher response speed and 1:150 dynamic range of laser beam strength control, LTFC provides increased accuracy and measurement stability compared with conventional Laser/PSD-based measuring systems.
Other features of the LK Controller include: a response speed selection system, a sophisticated alarm circuit which senses false alarm conditions, an auto-gain function, an IP-67 (NEMA 4) enclosure rating, and auto-zero key for simplified calibration and a Far/Near warning system.
