AlliedSignal Electronic Materials Names Senior Executives
AlliedSignal Electronic Materials (Los Gatos, CA), a strategic business unit of AlliedSignal Inc., appointed Steve Kirtley as vice president of technology and Jack D. Bolick as vice president and general manager of its Advanced Microelectronic Materials (AMM) enterprise effective immediately.
In his newly created position, Kirtley will be responsible for driving Electronic Materials' technology efforts and assessing new technology opportunities for the company's activities across all six business units: AMM, Laminate Systems, Optical Devices, Oak-Mitsui, Amorphous Metals and AlliedSignal Substrate Technology & Interconnects.
Replacing Kirtley as vice president and general manager of AMM is Jack D. Bolick, formerly president of Johnson Matthey Electronics' Wafer Fabrication Materials Group. In his new position, Bolick will be responsible for directing and shaping the future growth of AMM, and continuing to establish its leadership in the fast-emerging low k spin-on dielectric materials market. In addition, Bolick will be charged with positioning AMM as the leading provider of interconnect technology and global planarization solutions.
Prior to joining AlliedSignal in 1989, Kirtley was at Performance Materials in Milpitas, CA, and Electronic Chemicals in Buffalo, NY. He was also associate professor at Smith College, Northampton, MA. Kirtley holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Whitman College, Alabama, and a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California at Los Angeles.
Bolick has more than 18 years of diverse business experience with a focus on semiconductor materials supply, global marketing and manufacturing strategies that support high-growth markets. Prior to joining Johnson Matthey, Bolick held leadership positions at International Resistive Company, Analog Devices, Burlington Industries and United Merchants & Manufacturing. He holds bachelor's and master's of science degrees in industrial engineering from Western Carolina University and North Carolina A&T State University, respectively.
