Danvers, Massachusetts, December 15, 2000. TUV Product Service[www.tuvglobal.com] headquartered in Danvers, MA announces that it has awarded their first ISO 9001:2000 certificate in the United Sates to Mi8 Corporation www.Mi8.com of New York, NY. The ISO 9001:2000 certificate was presented to Dave Castellani, CEO of Mi8 Corporation by Richard King-Davies, ISO Auditor for TÜV Management Service this morning, moments after the global release of the ISO 9001:2000 standard by the International Organization for Standardization ISO in Geneva, Switzerland.

The release of the new ISO 9001:2000 standard succeeds the current ISO 9000:1994 standard and will become mandatory after a three-year transition period beginning December 15, 2000. Prior to the standard's publication date, ISO 9001:2000 certification was not possible. The ISO 9001:2000 standard reduces many of the standards that were present within the ISO 9000:1994 series standard merging ISO 9001, ISO 9002 and ISO 9003 into one single standard ISO 9001:2000. Also included are significant changes to the content, creating a new structure based upon eight quality management principles: Customer focused organization, leadership, involvement of people, process approach, systems approach to management, continual improvement, factual approach to decision making and mutually beneficial supplier relationships.

"Mi8 is committed to providing quality application services that exceed our customers' requirements and expectations, and the experience we gathered by implementing ISO-compliant procedures gives us an invaluable advantage as we move forward," said Dave Castellani, CEO of Mi8 Corporation. "Our achievement in receiving ISO 9001 certification is a tribute to our employees, and the level of quality to which they hold themselves and Mi8 accountable."

"By issuing certification to ISO 9001:2000 moments after the final publication of the standard, Mi8 Corporation becomes the first to receive their certification to the new ISO 9001:2000 standard in the U.S.," stated Richard King-Davies, ISO Auditor for TÜV Management Service. "Mi8 Corporation now joins the TÜV extended family of over 1,000 certified clients that have received management systems certification from TÜV Management Service."
