LINEAR ACTUATOR GUIDE

The new 40-page Thomson Saginaw Performance Pak Actuator (PPA) Engineering and Selection Guide enables designers to choose the proper electro-mechanical linear ball screw actuator for specific applications.
The new 40-page Thomson Saginaw Performance Pak Actuator (PPA) Engineering and Selection Guide enables designers to choose the proper electro-mechanical linear ball screw actuator for specific applications.

Models range from 12-volt DC units for outdoor power use, through 90-volt DC units for fixed and variable travel rate applications. Also included are models featuring 110- and 220-volt AC actuators for industrial, commercial, institutional and home installations. Many options such as electric brakes and position sensors (both Hall-Effect and Potentiometer) are covered. Detailed drawings for each type of actuator are included along with tables showing capacity, stroke and dimensions for every unit.

The guide also features a new family of Thomson Saginaw clevis-to-clevis end mounted DC, AC and miniature actuators. Also included in the guide are digital linear actuators, combining Saginaw ball screws with Thomson Airpax Mechatronics' stepper motors.

Performance Pak Actuators have self-contained motors (or manual gear boxes) that drive ball screws. Acme screw units are also available in12-, 36- and 90-volt DC units. PPA's feature:

  • all-steel support members
  • compression or tension load actuation
  • integral brakes & limit switches
  • weather-proof construction for DC models
  • 30% duty cycle motor rating
  • spur gear reduction
  • 3000 lb (13,350 N) static capacity.

Thomson electro-mechanical linear ball screw actuators are used in the appliance, communications, garden and farm equipment, recreational vehicle, materials handling, and medical apparatus industries.
