MACHINE CONTROLLER SERIES
WITH COMPACT MP940
Provides a New Level of High Performance
via Powerful Commands and Simple Programming
Waukegan, Illinois – Yaskawa Electric America, Inc. introduces the MP940, one and one half axis motion controller. The MP940 is the newest member of Yaskawa's MotionSuiteTM family of Electronic Machine Controllers. The modular packaging of the MP940 provides integral mounting with all Sigma II Servo drives. Sigma II drive sizes currently range from 30 watts to 15 kilowatts, with voltages of 115, 240, and 480 volts. Together the MP940 and Sigma II form an extremely powerful, compact, high performance motion control system designed to world standards. This includes global certifications such as: UL, cUL, CE and TUV.
Features of the MP940 system include RS-232 and RS-485 serial interfaces for programming and operator interface connections. A choice of high-speed serial networks, e.g. DeviceNet, Mechatrolink, etc., gives operators full network communication. The MP940 easily handles advanced motion control functions like Cams, Programmable Limit Switch, Phase Adjustment, Digital Gearing, Registration, external encoder input and more. With its comprehensive integral I/O, high-speed latch inputs, and extensive remote I/O expansion capability, the MP940 can be a complete, cost effective machine control.

The MP940 controls are programmed with Yaskawa's MotionWorks+TM graphical programming tool. MotionWorks+TM is an intuitive, event driven; icon based program, which makes powerful motion solutions easy.
MP940 is powerful enough to be a full machine control, offering cost effective advanced solutions. Alternatively, the MP940 can be a node on another network. This gives machine builders the option to design the lowest cost, most powerful solution and still have the flexibility to easily modify machines to meet varying customer specifications.
One of the most important features of the MotionSuite™ family of machine controllers is diagnostics. With Yaskawa's comprehensive diagnostic software, operators can interrogate programs, system components, networks, programs, system status, machine issues and even the process. Graphical records can be created to establish benchmarks for future performance comparison. With these tools machine performance can be optimized.
