October 3, 2000

Yaskawa Electric America, Inc. recently announced the opening of a 30,000-sq-ft facility in Fremont, CA, which will be the home for Yaskawa's Semiconductor Group (YSG), Development Center (YDC), and Technical Service Group (TSG).

The YSG integrates the company's extensive product lines into solution offerings for the demanding needs of the semiconductor manufacturing industry. These products include highly specialized wafer handling and processing robots, general-purpose robots, servos, motion controllers, and inverters.

YSG also collaborates with Synetics Solutions, Inc., a new company formed in June of 2000 by Yaskawa from the assets of the Huntair isolation technology division, located near Portland, OR. This division specializes in the design and manufacture of integrated automation – airflow management solutions for semiconductor manufacturers.

Yaskawa Electric America, Inc. (YEA) consists of three R&D facilities, sales and service offices, training centers, and manufacturing operations that supply machine controllers, AC servos, AC inverters, CNC and motion controller systems, robotics, office automation products, and systems integration.
