SEMI announces appointment of two members to board

Hill, chairman and CEO of Novellus Systems, has been chief executive officer of Novellus Systems and a member of its Board of Directors since December 1993. He was appointed chairman in May 1996. From 1981 to 1993, Hill served at Tektronix, Inc., where he held several positions including president of the Tektronix Development Company, vice president of the test and measurement group, and president of the Tektronix Components Corp. Prior to joining Tektronix, Hill held engineering management positions at General Electric, Motorola, and Hughes Aircraft Company.
Coder, president and COO of EKC Technology, joined EKC Technology in July 1992 as vice president of market research and assumed the role of president and chief operating officer in December 1992. From 1987 to 1992, Coder was vice president of sales and marketing for KTI Chemicals, a subsidiary of Union Carbide Chemicals and Plastics. Prior to joining Union Carbide, Coder was the microelectronics business manager at Eastman Kodak, a company for which he worked for 21 years in a variety of sales and marketing positions. Coder is a member and past chairman of the SEMI Chemical and Gas Manufacturer's Group (CGMG); is a member of the SEMI Environmental, Health and Safety Executive Committee; and is chairman of the SEMI e-Business Advisory Board.
